A Note on the Japanese Manga Anthology Afternoon

Yokohama Shopping Trip is about as G-rated as a story can be, but it keeps strange company in Afternoon. Although YST shares space with the squeaky clean Oh My Goddess, there is material there that makes Blood of the Immortal, which is also published in Afternoon, look very tame. For example, the scenes from Shadow Star that Dark Horse won't publish in the US appeared in Afternoon. Indeed, some of the material in Afternoon is very STRONG, although all of it seems to have some artistic merit. If you are squeamish, you may not want to buy Afternoon and just wait for the tanks instead. I normally don't believe in censorship, but there were some issues of Afternoon that had to go into the trash (after I cut out the YST material, of course.)
